Sports fans who have been consuming content all summer long have surely crossed paths with a few pieces from Pat McAfee. It feels like he’s everywhere, on the internet, in the stereo, and even in an upcoming movie on Netflix.
Even if fans wanted to escape McAfee for a moment, it sometimes feels as if it’s just not possible. That’s how a former NFL offensive lineman made it seem too.
Jake Long’s Pat McAfee Joke Goes Viral
Lately, everywhere football fans turn, it feels like McAfee is there, ready to chime in with his two cents.
Meanwhile, kids are going back to school across the nation, and now even learning facilities may not be a safe getaway from the popular ESPN sports personality.
On Wednesday, three-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman Kyle Long took the McAfee overexposure jokes to social media on his X page.
Long posted, “First day of school and Pat McAfee is my daughter’s principal.”
People clearly loved it; Long’s tweet was liked over 5,600 times as of this posting.

While some people quickly understood the joke Long was making about McAfee, others suggested he was simply “jealous.” Yet, as Long responded, he and McAfee are friends.
There doesn’t seem to be any ill will here from Long’s perspective; it’s just a former NFL offensive lineman having some well-timed fun with a trending topic on the internet.
With McAfee getting more exposure through TV, podcasts, album releases, movie debuts, and other forms of media, some fans have understandably had enough of him. Yet, that’s not the place Long is coming from here. He’s just joining in on the fun.
Which, if you just glance at his cover photo on X, it doesn’t take long to realize that Long is someone who likes to laugh. That’s what this is too, and chances are, McAfee probably found it just as funny as Long did.
Imagine McAfee as a school principal. There might be some fun, off-the-wall moments, and you can bet that school year would get pretty weird at times, but of course, not everyone would find him entertaining.
Thankfully, Long’s daughter won’t actually have to put up with McAfee as her principal this year.
