Carlsen didn’t see it that way. To him, it was just a move. He later explained that it stemmed from a misclick by his coach during training, and they worked on it to come up with an interesting idea against the Uzbek.
This exchange was classic Giri and Carlsen. The two have contrasting personalities, and the Dutch Grandmaster never misses a chance to take a dig at the Norwegian, even though they are on the same team at GCL this season.
