Corporation extends deadline to apply for birth certificate to September 26

Corporation extends birth certificate application deadline to September 26; essential for school admissions and official documentation.

Corporation extends deadline to apply for birth certificate to September 26
Parents, who have not registered the names of their children in the birth certificate, can apply for the same till September 26.

According to a press release from Corporation Commissioner Gaurav Kumar on Friday, birth certificate was mandatory for every individual. The document would be required for obtaining admission in schools, to get voter ID, driving licence, passport, visa renewal, and so on.

As per the amended rules of 2020 for birth and death certificates, the government had given time for registration through online. Those who fail to apply before September 26 may not be able to get the certificate through the normal channels, the release added.

Hence, it is mandatory to have the birth certificate filled with the name of the child (new born) as the blank column against the name would not be considered a complete certificate.

Similarly, children born before 2012 or those who were aged 15 and above may not be able to apply for birth certificate as delayed registration would not be possible as per the amendment. The children born in government medical college and hospitals, in government hospitals, and primary health centres, can approach the authorities concerned and apply for birth certificate, the release added.
