The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has launched its official website, providing information on its services, activities, emergency assistance, weather conditions, lakes, government lands and other matters on a single platform.
HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath launched the portal, https://hydraa.telangana.gov.in/, on Friday. The website provides information on the agency’s services and jurisdiction, disaster management, lake boundaries, nalas, government lands and other activities.
The portal prominently displays HYDRAA’s 24-hour emergency helpline, 1070. Citizens can use the number to report emergencies such as fallen trees, fire accidents, waterlogging on roads, floods and other disaster-related situations requiring assistance.
The website also enables building owners and developers to apply online for fire safety No Objection Certificates (NOCs) and track the status of their applications. Officials can scrutinise applications and take action through the department’s dashboard.
Details of key waterlogging and flood-prone areas have also been made available on the portal. Maps relating to waterlogging and flood-affected areas under the GHMC, CMC and MMC commissionerates can be viewed separately.
The portal provides live rainfall maps, daily rainfall data, weather forecasts and information from the Hyderabad Doppler radar. These facilities are intended to help people access updated weather information, particularly during the monsoon and periods of heavy rainfall.
Information on the Full Tank Level (FTL) of lakes can be accessed through a direct link to the HMDA Lakes Portal. The website also provides information on FTL and buffer zone regulations applicable around lakes and other water bodies, enabling people to check the relevant rules before taking up construction or other development activities near lakes, a statement from HYDRAA informed.
A direct link to the Telangana government’s Bhu Bharati portal has also been provided. Citizens can access available land records using survey numbers or pattadar details before purchasing land or undertaking other transactions.
The portal also carries information and updates on lakes being protected and restored by HYDRAA. News, updates, photographs and videos provide details of field-level activities, lake protection measures and other works being taken up by the agency.
