The Junior Players Championship has been a must-stop for college coaches scouting future talent.
Two dozen or so coaches register each round for the American Junior Golf Association invitational, which will be Sept. 4-6 at the Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. Many of the players have already verbally committed to college and those in the high school class of 2027 can sign this fall.
Entering the tournament, 23 of the 78 players have committed to 19 colleges, all in major conferences. The SEC leads with nine, followed by the Big Ten and ACC with four each and the Big 12 with three.
Among the commitments are Guiseppe Puebla of Royal Palm Beach and Jessy Huebner of Port St. Lucie to the University of Florida, Charlie Woods to Florida State, Brady Barnum and Bodie Brumlow to Georgia and Rory Asselta and Luden Esterline to defending national champion Auburn.
