Carla Slim, Chief Economist for the Middle East and Pakistan at Standard Chartered Bank, says investment is helping Saudi Arabia and the UAE recover from the economic impact of the U.S.-Iran conflict, with some indicators already back near pre-conflict levels. She says actual investment is rising and planned investment announced for 2026 is already comparable with the full-year 2025 level, while prolonged high energy prices could keep inflation elevated.
