OXFORD — Ole Miss football quarterback Trinidad Chambliss is connected with another law firm, but this time he's a spokesman and not a plaintiff. Chambliss and Missy Wigginton, the founder of Mama Justice — MW Law Firm, have announced an NIL partnership and a scholarship benefiting current and future college students. The firm announced Sept. 3 that it would be partnering with Chambliss to commit $225,000 in scholarships over five years. Three $15,000 awards will be awarded per year. It is called the Macon a Difference Scholarship. The scholarship honors Macon McKinney, the son of Mama Justice founder Missy Wigginton. Macon struggled with alcohol and died at 25. One scholarship will go to one student in Mississippi, one in Alabama and one in Tennessee each year. The first three $15,000 awards will be given for the spring 2027 semester. Chambliss transferred to Ole Miss from Division II Ferris State ahead of the 2025 season. He starred in 2025 and turned into a college star.
"The Division I offers never came out of high school — but Ferris State believed in me and put me on scholarship," Chambliss said in a press release. "People believed in me before I believed in myself, and my faith carried me the rest of the way. This scholarship is for every young person working twice as hard just to get to the starting line." According to the press release, a 60-second commercial feature Chambliss and the law firm will debut across Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee when the Rebels begin their Week 1 game against Louisville on Sept. 6 (6:30 p.m. CT, ABC). Mama Justice had no role in Chambliss's eligibility litigation. Chambliss is able to return to college football in 2026 after winning a preliminary injunction against the NCAA. Chambliss won his lawsuit in February. How to apply for Trinidad Chambliss scholarship Applications open for the scholarship on Oct. 1. It is open to students enrolled at an SEC university in their state, or graduates of a high school in that state, including incoming freshmen. Awards are used at an SEC university in the recipient's own state: Ole Miss or Mississippi State; Alabama or Auburn; Tennessee or Vanderbilt. The requirements are a 2.5 GPA minimum, an essay on overcoming adversity through faith and determination, community involvement and a letter of recommendation.
