The State, under the TVK government, was witnessing a “dark period”. What was happening in Tamil Nadu was a “Tughlaq-style rule” under Mr. Vijay, Mr. Dhinakaran alleged.
Speaking to journalists at Tiruchi, Mr. Dhinakaran slammed the TVK government, claiming that it had no “basic understanding” of governance and no “common sense” about governance. He wondered how such a government could have a vision for conceiving long-term schemes required for Tamil Nadu’s development and growth. It had no schemes for any sector that could usher in growth and had no knowledge of governance.
The TVK government could not properly handle the Cauvery water and price rise issues and was instead blaming others. Despite Tamil Nadu witnessing progress on many fronts during the six decades of Dravidian parties’ rule, the people of the State had elected the TVK seeking a change, Mr. Dhinakaran observed.
However, the people had already come to realise that they had elected the wrong persons to rule them, he claimed and added that they would teach a fitting lesson to the TVK in the upcoming bypolls to the two Assembly constituencies. Replying to a question, Mr. Dhinakaran said the AMMK would extend support to the AIADMK during the upcoming bypolls and work for their victory.
