Addressing a gathering at the office of the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh (BIEAP), in Tadepalli on Wednesday, Prof. Bhaduri stressed the importance of strengthening assessment practices in line with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
She appreciated the initiatives taken by the BIEAP to align its academic and assessment practices with the objectives of the NEP 2020. She said the Board’s adoption of the Integrated Test Management System (ITMS) was an important step towards technology-enabled, systematic and transparent assessment processes.
Prof. Bhaduri also emphasised the role of the PARAKH (Performance Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development) Taxonomy in strengthening competency-based assessment.
The PARAKH Taxonomy was envisaged as a key framework to guide the development of competency-based questions and facilitate a gradual transformation of assessment practices across the education system, she said.
She added that successful implementation of these reforms required active collaboration among school education boards and other stakeholders.
