JAMMU: J&K Police arrested two taxi drivers for allegedly abducting a Class VII student in Poonch’s Mendhar last week and gang-raping her in captivity for three days.Police said the survivor, aged around 13-14 years, is a resident of Mendhar’s Gursai and studies at a govt school in Surankote.The two accused are friends and drive pooled cabs. Both are in their late 20s and from Gursai, police said.According to the police complaint filed by the minor’s father at Gursai PS on Wednesday, his daughter was returning from school on Sept 6 when she boarded the pooled cab driven by one of the accused. Instead of stopping at the designated destination, the driver took her to his residence, where he and his friend allegedly confined and raped her repeatedly for three days.“An FIR was registered against the accused duo under the Pocso Act and BNS provisions for gang-rape, kidnapping and wrongful confinement,” an official said. Police said further investigation was under way.
