The Baltimore Ravens’ initial 53-man roster reflects one of the NFL’s most consistent draft-and-develop philosophies.
Baltimore drafted 35 players on the active roster, accounting for approximately two-thirds of the team. Another five entered the organization as undrafted free agents. Roquan Smith is the only current player acquired through a trade, while 12 arrived through free agency or other outside signings.
Chuma Edoga will join the free-agent category once his reported signing becomes official. Because Baltimore has not announced the corresponding transaction, he is listed separately from the current 53.

Reported addition awaiting corresponding move
- OL Chuma Edoga — free-agent signing
Edoga has agreed to join Baltimore, but the Ravens must complete a corresponding roster move before adding him to the official 53.
The overall construction reflects Baltimore’s preference for using draft picks to establish its core. Free agency has been used to add experience at specific positions, while trades remain an occasional tool reserved for significant players such as Smith.
